Pan-Fried Trout
Pan-Fried Trout
1 whole trout (or 4 trout fillets)
Salt
Pepper
Cooking oil
Lemon (optional)
Ginger (optional)
Fillet the trout if using whole trout.
Rinse fillets with cold water then pat dry with paper towel. Some sources say that rinsing fish with water will promote spread of bacteria while others recommend rinsing to remove the fishy flavor.
Add seasoning to the meat side of the fillet.
Heat up oil in pan, then pan fry for 3 minutes on both sides of fillet. Add a couple slices of ginger to the oil. This will infuse the oil with ginger and help with any fishiness.
