Braised Black Beans
1 cup dried black beans
1 tablespoon cooking oil
3 tablespoon soy sauce
3 tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoon minced garlic
Soy the black beans overnight in water.
Boil the soaked beans for 1 hour.
Drain the water.
Add all the remaining ingredients and stir on medium heat for 5 minutes.
If the beans are still too hot, you can add additional water and then boil until the water has evaporated.
Similar to the braised quail eggs, this was a dish I saw when I was watching kdramas. I really like this dish because of how gorgeous the beans look after becoming caramelized by the sugar and soy sauce. They look like beads of jewelery.
