Tofu puffs
Sweet soy sauce (black bean soy sauce)
Raw minced garlic
Put the tofu puffs into the air fryer.
Air fry for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prepare the sauce by mixing sweet soy sauce with raw minced garlic.
I really love this recipe because it is super simple and reminds me of Taiwan's fried stinky tofu. I used to absolutely avoid stinky tofu as a kid, but one day, I took a closer look and realized that it's just fried fermented tofu with a really fragrant garlic soy sauce drizzled on top. I took a bite and loved it ever since. This is a good lesson for me to not judge something just based on its name. For people who are hesitant about stinky tofu, I recommend just thinking about it as vegan cheese and ignore the "stinky" in the name.
I can't easily get stinky tofu now, but this recipe comes close to it, and I'm so glad it is incredibly convenient to make.
